At this point it is relevant to draw attention to the fact that there is obviousle a difference and an increasing one between the knowledge of the individual and that of all the sentient beings on this planet or nowadays in our solar system. It raises the questions of What is a sentient being? and Who am I? as well as Who are You. I would suggest that when an entity can say "I am" then it is sentient. The next two questions are the next progressions of the sentience ladder. A useful device in answering that sort of question is the diagram below
