Indoor toxic moulds & Chronic Asthma

Sensitisation to airborne moulds and severity of asthma. European Community respiratory health survey.

Frequency of sensitisation to moulds increased significantly with increasing severity of asthma. This was shown in all geographic areas (which included Australia). There was no association between asthma severity and sensitization to pollens or cats.

Conclusion: Sensitization to moulds is a powerful risk factor for severe asthma in adults. This should be taken into account in primary prevention, management, and patient education.

Now there is a mouthful for you and this is only a mere 8 residues there are many others with 20 or more.
