Keep a diary and keep it up to date. |
 |
Have someome independent or that you trust sign
and date at the bottom of entries. They do not need to have read the entry. |
 |
After any interviews if they are not minuted
or recorded send an email or a letter containing your record of interview to
the manager or lawyer. At the end of your communication state " If
you have any disagreement with this record please let me know by
return" |
 |
Lodge a copy of your record (sealed if you
like) with us |
 |
If you have fear as to your safety, talk to
as many people as possible as about the case. This is your best protection.
After all what benefit is there in getting rid of you if everyone knows.
Those who are in greatest danger are those who keep it to themselves |
 |
When you talk to others be careful HOW you
say things. Avoid defamation. Be objective, try not to be emotional. Present
facts. Use phrases such as " A reasonable person would not be blamed
for believing", "The evidence seems to indicate" |
 |
Ensure you report matters to appropriate authorities and in
the right sequence. For example to police, ombudsmen, the responsible state
or federal minister of the government. We know they might
ignore, might be ineffectual, may seek to fob you off, but it must be on the
record that you have tried to do the right thing at every turn. |
 |
When you go to any interview with these
people ensure that you have a witness with you at all times. |
 |
If possible tape all meetings. If there are
objections use the phrase "I am about to
tell the truth I have no problem with taping why would you?" |
 |
If you are going to court make sure there are
going to be people there who are known to you and who will hear what is said
by all and who will witness the judgment. |
